  1. 1 · Open with the aim. The right to equality (Articles 14 to 18) aims at the rule of law and equal treatment of all citizens.
  2. 2 · Equality before law (Article 14). No one is above the law; the law protects everyone equally.
  3. 3 · No discrimination (Article 15). No discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth; public places are open to all. Special provisions for women and children are allowed.
  4. 4 · Abolition of untouchability (Article 17). Untouchability in any form is a punishable offence.
  5. 5 · Real-life example. A village well or a tea stall cannot turn anyone away because of caste.
  6. 6 · Close in one line. Together these provisions help build a society of equals.

Scoring tip: Write the Article number with each provision. Three clear provisions, one line each, earn the marks.
