How to lay out the answer. Follow the frame, then write it in your own words.
- 1 · Freedom movement. Leaders saw that democracy and development need peace, and promised to promote international peace.
- 2 · Support abroad. They backed anti-colonial and anti-racist movements; in 1949 Nehru called India's policy positive, not neutral.
- 3 · Article 51. The Directive Principles ask the State to promote international peace, just relations, respect for international law, and arbitration.
- 4 · Peace at home. Federalism, local governments, social justice, secularism and equal participation prevent discontent.
- 5 · Close in one line. India links peace abroad with justice at home.
