Puberty and the male reproductive system sheet5-mark answer frameDraw a labelled diagram of the human male reproductive system. Write the jobs of the testes, the vas deferens and the seminal vesicles.
How to lay out the answer. Follow the frame, then write it in your own words.
- 1 · Open in one line. The male reproductive system makes sperms and carries them out of the body.
- 2 · Testes. Make sperms and testosterone; they lie in the scrotum because sperm formation needs a lower temperature.
- 3 · Vas deferens and urethra. The vas deferens carries sperms and joins a tube from the bladder; the urethra carries both sperms and urine.
- 4 · Glands. The seminal vesicles and prostate add a fluid for the transport and nutrition of sperms.
- 5 · Draw the system. [Diagram: urinary bladder, seminal vesicle, prostate gland, vas deferens, urethra, penis, testis, scrotum]
- 6 · Link to daily life. Changes such as a cracking voice come from testosterone and are a normal part of growing up.
- 7 · Close in one line. Each part has one job: making, nourishing or carrying sperms.
Scoring tip: Do not confuse the ureter (kidney to bladder) with the urethra (bladder to the outside).
