The accounting equation and business transactions sheetStructured-answer frameShow the effect of the given transactions on the accounting equation.
How to lay out the answer. Follow the frame, then write it in your own words.
- 1 · Draw the grid. One column per asset, then an equals sign, then liabilities and capital.
- 2 · Enter each transaction on its own line. At least two entries per line, each with + or −.
- 3 · Label every change in capital. Write profit, expense, income or drawings beside it.
- 4 · Total each column. Show the working for cash, which has the most entries.
- 5 · Prove the balance. Total assets = total liabilities + capital.
Scoring tip: Rule the columns neatly and keep the + and − signs; examiners mark the layout.
