Explain the types of fatigue and the managerial process applied to energy.
How to lay out the answer. Follow the frame, then write it in your own words.
1 · Open in two lines. Fatigue is a state of tiredness in which the capacity to work falls. It is the body's signal to stop or change.
2 · Physiological fatigue. Muscular tiredness from hard or long physical work, as lactic acid builds up and energy stores fall. Relieved by rest and food. Example: washing clothes by hand.
3 · Psychological fatigue. Tiredness from boredom, monotony, worry or dislike of a task. Relieved by interest, variety and appreciation. Example: washing vessels alone every day.
4 · Compare them in a table. [Table: physiological versus psychological fatigue: cause, how it feels, relief, example]
5 · Planning energy use. Know each task's energy cost, spread and alternate heavy and light tasks, plan rest, simplify work and share tasks.
6 · Controlling and evaluating.
Energizing: start demanding tasks at the time of best efficiency.
Checking: watch for slowing, mistakes and irritability.
Adjusting: rest, change the task or ask for help.
Evaluating: was the work done without undue fatigue? Revise the plan.
7 · Nutrition link. Anaemia and skipped meals bring on fatigue early; balanced, iron-rich meals help.
8 · Close in one line. Planned energy use, rest and variety keep both kinds of fatigue in check.
Scoring tip: Keep the two types side by side in a table, then walk through planning, controlling and evaluating as three short paragraphs.
