Explain the process of management with a neat diagram.
How to lay out the answer. Follow the frame, then write it in your own words.
1 · Open in two lines. Management is a continuous process of using resources to reach goals. It has four steps: planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating.
2 · Draw the cycle. [Diagram: a circle of planning → organizing → controlling → evaluating → back to planning, with 'family goals' in the centre]
3 · Planning. Deciding in advance what, how, when and by whom. Set the goal, collect facts, list alternatives, choose one. Example: a festival menu and shopping list.
4 · Organizing. Divide tasks, assign responsibility, gather materials and coordinate. Example: each family member gets a festival job.
5 · Controlling.
Energizing: starting the work and keeping it going.
Checking: comparing progress with the plan.
Adjusting: changing the plan when something goes wrong.
6 · Evaluating. Judging results against goals and standards, in general or in detail. The lessons feed the next plan, completing the cycle.
7 · Nutrition link. A diet kitchen plans menus, organizes staff, checks portions and evaluates plate waste.
8 · Close in one line. Guided by principles such as division of work and order, the four steps keep turning so family management keeps improving.
Scoring tip: Draw the cycle first. Examiners look for the three parts of controlling and the arrow from evaluation back to planning.
